An unlikely pair? Seems not. State Farm has enlisted the help of comedy legend Steve Harvey to do a series of digital comedy shorts covering interesting angles to some common car and home insurance topics. The first animated episode premiered this week on HarveyKnowsBest.com, where Steve Harvey does a bit about his son’s request for a brand new Escalade for his birthday.
“These bits are strictly entertaining,” said State Farm’s Marketing VP, Pam El. “Though they address insurance and financial-services-related topics, to broaden State Farm’s brand voice in an unexpected way, they are delivered with Steve’s unique perspective and humor.” The comedy is genuine, relatable, and best of all, digital - a big sign that this comedy-filled campaign, equipped with 48 planned episodes, may very well be a success amongst State Farm consumers.
